This early WW2 trainer is a Ryan PT-22.  There were two of these at Oshkosh this year.  In the background you can see the control tower.  I'm slowly making my way towards AeroShell Square and the control tower is beyond AeroShell Square so I'm pretty close now.  There is a tram that runs north and south along the road you see on the left side of this picture but I found myself frequently skipping the tram and walking among the planes instead.  There is so much to see.
