Casual observers might mistake this airplane for a Ford Tri-Motor. It is a Stinson SM-6000-B Tri-Motor. This one was manufactured in 1931. In 1932 it was sold to American Airways, the forerunner of American Airlines. The airplane is painted exactly as it was then. Here is a detailed history of this particular airplane. This Stinson is just one of many antique airplanes at Oshkosh that will be participating in the National Air Tour re-creation this year.
