I believe that this presentation has shown that Mr. W's "gap" does not represent RCC damage. The gap is merely light being blocked by a shuttle bay door latch. As for Mr. W's alleged RCC "gash", Mr W has digitally manipulated a 1x6 pixel feature in the original NASA STS-107 image into what he believes represents a "gash". A similar image taken during the STS-68 mission, which is of much higher resolution than the STS-107 image, shows several prominent marks on the RCC. Any one of those marks could be mistaken for a "gash" or "gouge" by someone with an inventive mind who desperately wanted to believe it was so.
I believe that this presentation has shown that Mr. W's claims of visual RCC damage are not supported by credible evidence. As always, well reasoned comments, corrections, and criticisms will be cheerfully accepted.
